LINCOLN CITY NATIONAL NIGHT OUT A HUGE SUCCESS

On Tuesday, August 7th over 500 Lincoln City community residents and visitors gathered at Kirtsis Park for an evening of family fun and community interaction.  This was Lincoln City’s first annual National Night Out, hosted by Lincoln City Parks and Recreation Department.  The Lincoln City Police Department and other organizations came together for this community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood fellowship.  This fun friendly event included live music, food, games, bounce houses, dunk tank and much more.  A big thank you to everyone that came out to show the strength and unity of our community.

LOCAL POLICE OFFICERS GRADUATE

On December 8th, two of Lincoln City’s own officers graduated from the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) 372nd Basic Police Class.  Erik Anderson and K.C Claunts were among the graduates.

Officers Erik Anderson and K.C. Claunts joined the Lincoln City Police Department on May 15th, 2017 and entered the training program on August 14th, 2017.

The program is a 16-week training course that consists of report writing, tactics, pedestrian safety, firearms, ethics, elder abuse, drug recognition, cultural diversity, and many other aspects an officer could potentially encounter. During this time the graduates were tested both physically and academically.

On behalf of Lincoln City we congratulate and thank you both for your continued dedication and commitment to your community.
