FEMA Hazard Mitigation Update Jan 4, 2020

On September 15, 2020, President Donald Trump approved a request for an Oregon Disaster Declaration from Wildfires and Straight-line Winds, which resulted in DR-4562-OR. The FEMA Hazard Mitigation mission, to protect lives and prevent or reduce the loss of property from hazard events, aligns directly with the FEMA Mission Statement of helping people before, during and after disasters. Hazard Mitigation is defined as sustained action taken to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property from hazards and their effects.
